TASTE ALBERTA - BE ASSURED

Taste Alberta represents a variety of organizations within the Alberta food and agriculture industry that have come together to encourage loyalty to locally produced foods. They are a working group of partners that use communication, education and engagement to connect Albertans with information about how food is grown and raised in Alberta and to help individuals explore the amazing range of products available here in Alberta.

THE PROJECT: 

Our partnership with Taste Alberta began with creating the branding and visual identity for the Be Assured Concept. Later on, we helped them refresh their website and merge the Be Assured branding with Taste Alberta.

THE PROCESS

 BRANDING

The Be Assured concept was inspired by the query of “Where does your food come from?”. After working with a large market research company, we determined that a vast amount of individuals have a variety of dietary restrictions and preferences and it was essential to start a dialogue about the importance of food sourcing. The goal with this concept was to create a foundation for conversations about where food in Alberta comes from.

We wanted to create a vibrant and fun brand identity that complements fresh food photography while still having an organic feel. The branding elements serve to amplify the photography as well as start conversations about Alberta food and the importance of supporting local farmers. We wanted the brand voice and identity to be able to support and highlight all of Taste Alberta’s partners.

It was also important to keep content marketing and blogging in mind when creating the branding system. We designed elements that could be easily integrated into blogs and social media posts.

WEBSITE

This website refresh began with an audit and review of their previous site. The main focus of the website refresh was to switch platforms from Wix to Squarespace as well as to integrate the Be Assured branding throughout the entire Taste Alberta website. We enhanced their copy with additional details and updates, as well as provided bios about their partners.

We also were able to add original photography from their partners to their website as well as some bright and colourful stock photography that supports the Be Assured brand identity.

THE RESULTS

  • Helped create a platform for conversations regarding Alberta food sourcing and supporting local farmers.
